National Cherry Blossom Festival Update
Now that we’re getting closer and closer to peak bloom dates, we thought it would be a good time to update you on the National Cherry Blossom Festival.   “The Nation’s Greatest Springtime Celebration” takes place the middle of March through the end of April.   Here’s the latest in Cherry Blossom Festival news and events:   - The National Park Service has predicted peak dates for the blossoming of the cherry trees around the Tidal Basin. According to the NPS, based on current bud development and expected temperatures, the trees will be at peak bloom starting around Friday, March 18 through Wednesday, March 23. Peak bloom is defined as the period when 70%% of the blossoms on the Yoshino Cherry trees are open. Of course, peak season varies from year-to-year, depending on weather conditions.
